Dear Donna:
 
I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks for the enthralling performance 
that you put on for our 2006 Vacation Reading Program on June 14.  The kids and adults truly 
enjoyed it; they could not stop talking about you.  I thought it was absolutely riveting.  
You are the most entertaining person I have ever seen.
 
It is well known that summer reading leads to maintenance of reading skills and a love of reading 
for children and young adults during their vacation time.  As a storyteller, folklorist and author 
you understand the significance of good reading skills in building a better economy, a stronger 
society, and a richer quality of life for all of our citizens.  It is people like you who are actively 
involved in improving literacy, education, and quality of life in our country.
 
On behalf of all the children who participated in the Vacation Reading Program I would like to thank 
you for the wonderful performance.
